New INEC Commissioner Resume
The newly sworn in Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Resident Electoral Commissioners and a national commissioner have resumed official duties.
The new appointments have brought the national commissioners to 12 and 37 states resident electoral commissioners
Briefing newsmen in Abuja, the Nigerian capital the chairman of the independent national electoral commission Mahmud Yakubu charged the new recs to be open, transparent and non-partisan in the discharge of their duties.
The two new resident electoral commissioners are Garba Attahiru Madami who has been deployed to Kwara state and Ahmed Bello Mahmud who is also expected to resume in Kebbi state.
The new national commissioner is Festus Okoye a human rights activist and an expert in constitutional electoral laws.
