NASS Holds Public Hearing On Vote Buying
The National Assembly Committees on INEC will on Monday (today) hold a public hearing on vote-buying.
The hearing, scheduled to hold by 10am at the Senate Building Room 002 is part of the national assembly’s efforts to stem the tide of vote-buying in the country.
At the hearing, experts and politicians will discuss the implications of vote-buying on the polity.
It is expected that a practical solution to the anomaly would be adopted at the end of their deliberations.
The objective of the public hearing is to identify the causes of vote-buying, its dangers, and enlighten Nigerians on the need to stand up against the trend.
The public hearing is instigated by the recent situation, whereby political parties accuse one another of vote-buying.
