A Group under the aegis of the Good Ambassadors of Nasarawa State (GANS) in its first congress meeting held at the Faculty of Law, Nasarawa State University Keffi (NSUK) on Sunday 13th April, 2014 noted that the youth are ripe enough to lead and hence be given the level playing ground to exercise their fundamental human right ie to vote and be voted for.
This was contained in a communiqués signed by its Interim National Vice Chairman, Benjamin Ewuga, the Interim National Publicity Secretary, Ibrahim Kabiru Dallah and the Interim National Secretary Shuaibu Muhammad Shafa, they resolved that the youth should be given a chance to contribute their quota in developing the state.
“We are all aggrieved of the fact that the current crops of leaderships in Nasarawa State have long overstayed in their various position and even the political scene, it is worthy to note that democracy is not monarchy where power is been exchanged within the ruling home and kinsmen, as such we resolved that we wont stand to be intimated by any politician and the days of the youths being used as thugs has gone.
Without much ado, we wish to categorically states that our major problems in Nasarawa State has always been hunger, shelter and infrastructure development not religion or ethnicity that is the order of the day in Nasarawa State being orchestrated by the top politicians, it is on these note that we condemn in it entirety the continued killings of the innocent citizens of Nasarawa State in the bush by fulani herdsmen and our brothers and Sisters that were murdered during the last Saturday UTME Examinations in Borno State by Boko Haram sects, “Our Heart Bleed” and May Their Souls Rest In Peace.
Consequently upon the foregoing crisis in the Petroleum Sector where 20b USD was missing under the leadership of Mrs Alison Madueke, we hereby urge the National Assembly to hasting up the forensic reports, probe and whoever is indicted should be prosecuted with immediate effect, as youth group in Nasarawa State we shall soon state a protest in the capacity of Lafia to demand for our missing 20b USD”.
The group also urge the youths in Nasarawa State to work together as one so as to regain the peaceful co-existence we are all known for while also encourage them to via for political positions in various political party.
