Nasarawa State Students Association (NASSA) Election: Separating the Wheat from the Chaffs by Ibrahim Kabiru Dallah
The NASSA Imbroglio: Before The Anarchy Set In…
Fried rich Nietzsch, must be having the Likes of Kasim Muhammad, the SA on Student Matters to the Governor of Nasarawa State, Alhaji Umar Tanko Almakura in mind when he succinctly and laconicaly quoted that “Everything the State says is a lie, and everything it has it has stolen”.
If not how on earth can someone explain the substitution of genuine Students who were duly elected as caretaker committee, for his retinue of Political Almajiri’s, sycophants and non students who do not know anything about governance, it is fitting to state categorically that the genuine Students and authentic executives appointed are as follows:
Nasir Abdullahi- CTC Chairman, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria
Agidi onesimus- Public Relations Officer, University of Agriculture, Makurdi
Usman Ahmed Umme, Secretary General, Federal Poly Bauchi
Musa Aliyu Oseh- Director of Sport, University of Jos
Abdulrazak G. Yusuf, Director Travel and Exchange, A.T.B.U, Bauchi
Talatu Ali- Treasurer, C.O.E Akwanga, Nasarawa State
Yusuf Yahuza- Financial Secretary, University of Abuja
James Isah Engah- Assistant Secretary General, Ahmadu Bello University Zaria
Isa Maikasuwa- Vice President, Nasarawa State University Keffi
We therefore challenge the myopic, jaundice and the socio-spiritual under performing Special Assistant on Student matters, Kasim Muhammad to publish the schools and names of the non students he single handedly hand picked as NASSA National Executives just for pecuniary gains of 5% scholarship remittance that is about to be paid by the state government, no doubt we ALL stands upon the threshold of history, to either build or break, make or mar, fulfill or betray our generational task of repositioning the association that we have all passed through, to the orbit of its glorious past where Peace, equity and justice shall reign supreme, but since the charlatans called Kasim Muhammad and his cohort has remain adamant to use the Governor Almakura, and Nasarawa State Machineries to suppress the will of the majority of Nasarawa State Students at home and in Diaspora.
As evident in the press release of the immediate past National Executives under the leadership of Comrade Taimako Sunday of the University of Jos and was signed by the Vice President Comrade Lucky Yargwa of Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, dated: 28th November, 2013 with the caption; THE STATE OF NASARAWA STATE STUDENTS ASSOCIATION (NASSA) NATIONAL BODY, ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.
We are now been vindicated that all attempt by Kasim Muhammad and his cronies at black mailing us, now shows they are trying to be crying more than the bereaved, but as a genuine, honest and sincere lover of Peace, Progress and Development in Nasarawa State and beyond, we will continue to talk, until Kasim Muhammad is removed, and the rightful occupant of the Nasarawa State Students Association (NASSA) National Body Executives take full charge of their mandate, no amount of threats, blackmails, harassment and intimidation of Kasim Muhammad and his thugs can stop us from seen that justice is done, it is on this basis, that we are calling on all stakeholders to join us in the mother of ALL Struggle to reclaim the stolen mandate.
For peace to reign, justice must prevails! We therefore call on our peace loving Governor, Alhaji Umar Tanko AlmakurA to remove Kasim Muhammad forthwith, for gross abuse of his office and incompetence, to avoid confrontation between the genuine Executives and Kasim Muhammad installed Executives ,this calls become necessary at a time when Nasarawa state is just enjoying a relative peace after the crisis that rocked the Nasarawa State University Keffi, where two harmless Nigerian Students died, and the recent and yet to be resolved ombatse clashes with security.
On a final note, this is the association that made some of us today in Nigeria as such we cannot keep quiet while some political opportunist and almajiris are ruining the future of our brothers and sisters and that of our unborn children.
