NAPTIP Arrest Human Trafficker In Delta
National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons, NAPTIP has arrest a suspected human trafficker at Uwheru, Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State who earlier escaped the agency by jumping into the river.
This was contained in a statement by NAPTIP Benin zonal command, PRO, Mr. Nduka Nwanwenne and made available to newsmen.
He said the suspect, 29 years old Mr. Action Mudiaga was arrested in a midnight operation at the weekend, after he escaped the agency by climbing through a roof and jumping into the river.
The suspect allegedly trafficked a 14-year-old primary 5 pupil of Udu Primary school, Uwheru to his sister, Ejiro, in Mali, who equally handed over the victim to one Madam Shakira who exploited her.
The victim had been lured into believing that she was going to work in a supermarket in Mali, only to be forced to put on only pant and bra like other girls she met who were also being exploited and forced to meet with male customers.
Director General of NAPTIP, Dame Julie Okah-Donli, has reiterated that there is no escape for human traffickers in the land, sea or air, adding that these traffickers will always be fished out in the Agency’s effort to rid the country of human trafficking.
