NANS /NISTRAV Endorses Jonathan For 2nd Term; Ngozi Olejeme As Delta Governor
The National Association of Nigerian Students NANS today in Asaba Delta State urged President Goodluck Jonathan to make himself available unconditionally for reelection as President of Nigeria come 2015 as the call was also extended on the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP to present Dr. Mrs Ngozi Olejeme as her candidate for the governorship election in Delta State come 2015.
The call was made at the Grand inauguration of the Nigeria Students Transformation Vanguard which preceded the 2014 annual convention of the NANS taking place in Asaba, Delta State. The event which was attended by over Ten thousand Students also had the entire National leadership of NANS, the 4 Â Zonal leaderships of the NANS, Joint campus committee chairmen, over 150 students’ union presidents and 16 Former Presidents, and Senate Presidents of the Association.Â
Describing the Transformation Agenda of President  Jonathan as unprecedented in the History of Nigeria, the NANS President Comrade Yinka Gbadebo while inaugurating the Nigerian Students Transformation Vanguard, NISTRAV listed the achievements of President Jonathan in the area of Education, Youth empowerment and the infrastructural  Development of the country.
The NANS also used the occasion to prevail on the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP to present Dr. Mrs Ngozi Olejeme as the candidate of the party for the 2015 governorship election in Delta State. The NANS premised her demand on the supportive contributions of Mrs Olejeme to the development of the Students movement in Nigeria and her untiring commitment to youth development in her home state of Delta. Dr. Mrs Olejeme has in the last few years identified herself with the Nigerian Students Struggle by associating with the Programmes of the union and prevailing on authorities to yield to the demands of Students whenever the need arises.
Not unmindful of the criticism that may trail the decision of the NANS, the NANS President, Comrade Yinka Gbadebo challenged whosoever is displeased by the decision of the association to endorse President Jonathan to come out openly in a debate of comparison of leadership of Nigeria while also demanding other political parties to push forward candidates of President Jonathan’s pedigree for the race if none exists among them.
The NANS President thereby gave a mandate to the Transformation Vanguard to immediately commence the collation of the signatures of  Ten Million Nigerian Students Volunteers  while the various campuses chapters were enjoined to immediately commence the door to door advocacy of the Goodluck Transformation  Agenda as members of the Nigerian Students Transformation Vanguard.
