NAHCON Sets May 2018 Deadline For Payment For Next Year Hajj
Nigeria’s intending pilgrims for next year’s Hajj are expected to pay for the exercise in full by the end of May, twenty eighteen.
The Chairman, National Hajj Commission, NAHCON, Barrister Abdullah Mukhtar Muhammad disclosed this in his opening remarks at a day meeting with representatives of State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Boards and Agencies today in Abuja.
He enjoyed all stakeholders and Hajj managers to be diligent and to strictly adhere to laid down rules and regulations that would ensure practicably effective service delivery to all pilgrims.
The Chairman urged Hajj handlers and other stakeholders to borrow a leaf from the late Shaykh Abubakar Mahmoud Gummi who epitomised sacrifice, dedication, commitment and fear of Allah when he laid the foundation for effective handling of Hajj Affairs in the Country during the early seventies, by insisting that the right thing was rightly done.
Barrister Abdullah Mukhtar advised Hajj managers and stakeholders in Nigeria not to be distracted by mischief makers whose stalk in trade is to always be cogs in the wheel of any resolve to ensure that pilgrims got the best practicable services, through what they know best, blackmail and stigmatisation of Hajj handlers.
He appreciated the State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Boards and Agencies, Zonal Coordinators, Officials from various government Ministries, Agencies and Parastatals, Islamic Organisations under the auspices of Jamaatu Nasril Islam and the Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs and the press for their commitment and wonderful support in the successes recorded during the last Hajj exercise.
