Missing Nigerian Journalist, Fejiro Oliver In SSS Detention In Minna
The State Security Service (SSS) attached to Niger State in Minna has confirmed that Fejiro Oliver, the abducted journalist, is in their custody.
While parading the journalist today on television, the SS official alleged that Fejiro Oliver was arrested and will be charged with attempt to extort 50 million Naira from Niger State Government.
Mr Oliver was abducted on Friday, September 19 during a supposed meeting with the Secretary to Niger State Government (SSG).
But Elombah.com, one of the online news platform Mr. Fejiro reports for however said it can authoritatively say that the allegation cannot be true as no monetary issue was ever raised before or in the course of the meeting.
Speaking with Elombah.com during a telephone conversation, the wife confirmed that money was never part of their negotiation as personnels of the state government merely invited him to proffer documents debunking the disparaging report he wrote against Niger State Government alleging corruption.
Mr Oliver had written an extensive report wherein he disclosed profuse corruption in several strata of the state including decaying infrastructure.
Oliver had prior to publishing the report also alerted security agencies and the public on the threat to his life by Niger State government officials.
