“It is a Mere Rumour, I am Not Contesting for Adamawa State Governor” – Atiku
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has debunked media report that he is eyeing the Adamawa governorship seat.
A section of the media had reported that Atiku would contest the October 11 governorship election in Adamawa state to boast the chances of his party, the All Progressives Congress (APC).
But contrary to the report, the former vice president during the tenure of Olusegun Obasanjo who took to his facebook page said it is a mere rumor.
“I just read this rumour that I am running for governor of Adamawa State. This is not true ??smile,” Atiku said.
“I was elected governor of Adamawa State 15 years ago, but was elevated to the position of Vice President. I believe we must always look forward, not backwards.
“I will never back away from supporting the development of my home state, as I have always done, both as a businessman and a statesman”.
