MAPOLY Lecturers Seek Quick Intervention Of Abiodun In Institution’s Crises
The Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics, ASUP, Moshood Abiola Polytechnic chapter, Abeokuta has requested the Governor-Elect of Ogun state to urgently attend to the lingering crises of the over 40-year old institution, as soon as he is sworn in by May this year.
The union made the request during a Congratulatory visit to the Governor-Elect of ogun state, Prince Dapo Abiodun in his Iperu home, Ogun state.
Led by its Chairman,Mr Babatunde Osifalujo , the union maintained that the birth of a university should not disturb the existence of MAPOLY which has been sustaining itself for over four decades.
‘ The decision of Governor Amosun to upgrade MAPOLY to a University of Science and Technology and the creation of a new Polytechnic at Ipokia has grossly affected the only source of IGR to MAPOLY’ Osifalujo lamented.
He pleaded with the incoming Governor to expedite action towards reviving Mapoly as the institution has a large landmass that could accommodate the two institutions.
In his remark, the Governor-Elect, Prince Dapo Abiodun appreciates the ASUP leaders for the visit and assured them that he would soon invite all parties involved in a bid to resolving all lingering issues.
He also promised to replicate the trust of people with good governance that would affect the lives of masses positively.
