Manny Pacquiao Wins WBO After Defeat By Timothy Bradley
The World Boxing Organisation, WBO has awardee victory to Manny Pacquiao in a review of the fight saw victory awarded to Timothy Bradley into his split-decision earlier this month.
On the night two judges scored the bout 115-113 in the Bradley’s favour, prompting boos around the MGM Grand.
The WBO met with five international judges who evaluated a video of the fight and unanimously scored victory in favour of Pacquiao.
Although the original victory earleir awarded to bradley still stays, as the WBO does not have the power to upturn the result, but a rematch may be ordered.
It was a first defeat in seven years for Philippines fighter Pacquiao, who landed 94 more punches than Bradley.
Pacquiao is already guaranteed a rematch because of a clause in his contract.
According to the promoter for both fighters Bob Arum, Pacquiao is already guaranteed a rematch because of a clause in his contract as he has indicated he would prefer the rematch over Bradley forfeiting the WBO welterweight title.
