Main Suspect In Kano Woman’s Murder Arrested, Gov Meets Stakeholders, Says Spokesman
The Kano State Government has said the main suspect in the murder of Mrs Bridget Patience Agbaheme has been arrested.
This was disclosed in a series of tweets by Salhu Tanko Yakassai, Director General on Media and Communication to Kano State governor, Abdullahi Ganduje.
Yakassai said investigation is still ongoing and that the remaining suspects who carried out the dastardly act will also be arrested.
He said Governor Ganduje who is indeed disturbed and personally saddened by the ugly incident has been engaging with stakeholders since the news of the death of Mrs Patience got to him.
He added that the governor has been meeting with all stakeholders in order to get the full details of the occurrence and find ways of addressing them.
“His Excellency Governor Ganduje has been engaging stakeholders since morning over the death of Mrs Bridget Patience who was killed yesterday by mob action.”
“Since the incidence was brought to H.E’s attention, he has been meeting with several stakeholders in order to get the full details of it.”
“This series of engagement with stakeholders just concluded with a meeting with Council of Ulamas, CAN Kano Chapter and leader of Igbos in Kano.”
“The husband of late Mrs Bridget was also part of the stakeholders H.E engaged with throughout the day, including reps of security agencies.”
Yakasai said at the end of the stakeholders meeting, it was unanimously agreed that Mrs Bridget Patience was illegally killed.
He said while it was also agreed that justice must be done as the suspect has been apprehended by the police, some stakeholders particular the Council of Ulamas and the leadership of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) should publicly condemn this barbaric act.

“His Excellency, Governor Ganduje along with the stakeholders also agreed that justice must be done as the suspect has been apprehended by the police,” Yakasai said.
He said the Governor on behalf of the state government wishes to express his condolences to the husband of the deceased and her family and promised that the State Government will assist the family of the deceased prepare for the burial arrangements.
