Magu Vows To Arrest Ekpeyong, Oke
Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mr. Ibrahim Magu, has vowed to ensure the arrest of a former Director-General of the Department of State Services, Mr. Ita Ekpeyong; and a former DG of the National Intelligence Agency, Ambassador Ayo Oke.
Recall that officials of the Department of State Services (DSSAmbassador Ayo Oke), on Tuesday, prevented the EFCC from arresting Ekpenyong Ita, at his Asokoro home in Abuja, despite issuing a valid search and arrest warrants.
Ita had reportedly failed to honour a series of EFCC invitations to explain his alleged role on offences bordering on alleged theft and diversion of public funds.
Meanwhile, speaking after attending the inauguration of the committee on recoveries of assets at the Presidential Villa, in Abuja, Magu said nobody, no matter how highly placed, was above the law of the land.
He stressed that the commission has concrete evidence against the former DSS and NIA heads.
“The law will take its course,” he said.
