Lagos Ibadan Railway 95% Complete – Amaechi
The Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi has assured Nigerians that phase one of the Lagos Ibadan standard gauge rail project,which begins from Ebutte Metta will be ninety five percent complete by the second week of April.
Mr Amaechi made this known while speaking with newsmen during the monthly inspection of the rail project, he said work had reached an advanced stage.
The Minister of Transportation commended the contractors, the Chinese Civil Engineering Company for the pace of work and explained why the contract figure had to be reviewed upwards.
Mr Amaechi said the federal government was passionate about rail projects in the country because apart from easing transportation of goods it had already started creating employment.
The Construction of the Lagos Ibadan Standard guage rail line began in February,2017,and was expected to cost one point six billion dollars.
