Kwankwaso/Amaechi Presidential Campaign Posters Flood Kano Streets
Colourful and intimidating presidential campaign posters of Kano state Governor, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso and his Rivers state, counterpart Rotimi Amaechi under All Progressives Congress (APC) platform flooded Kano streets yesterday.
The posters pasted along strategic highways in the commercial hub of northern Nigeria adorned the stretch of Zaria road, Ibrahim Taiwo road, Gyadi Gyadi overhead bridge, Maiduguri road and Gidan Murtala by Kano Technical College Highway, overhead Bridge.
It was not clear those behind the Kwankwaso /Amaechi project in the state as there was no claim of sponsorship in the money spinning posters that were posted Thursday night.
A city dweller, Malam Sani Adamu while responding to the development noted that “this is a welcome development in a democracy, at least it create options to the citizens.” Adamu stated, “I assured the duos of my support because they have done better in their respective states, like here in Kano, everybody can attest to the fact that Kwankwaso is the architect of modern Kano”.
Reacting to the development, Special Assistant to the Governor, Malam Hashimu Suleiman Dungurawa said government has no hand in it but was quick to add “This is democracy; people are free to identify with their role models”.
Dungurawa said, “As at today, old Kwankwaso is the best material for presidency come 2015. He is the man Dungurawa explained that the Governor and his River state counterpart would be the best ticket in 2015 presidential election, while appealing to the party stakeholders and delegates to vote for duo during the forth. He disclosed that Kano people are solidly supporting Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso aspirations to contest the Presidential ticket in 2015, stressing that “we would go round the country to campaign for them”.
Effort to reach the state Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Alhaji Umar Haruna Doguwa was fruitless as his GSM line was unreachable.
