Kogi House Of Assembly Speaker, Deputy Impeached
The Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly, Momoh Jimoh-Lawal, representing Okene 1 constituency, has been impeached on Thursday.
Also impeached is the deputy speaker Aliyu Akuh, representing Omala Constituency, as well as the minority leader of the House, Hassan Bello, representing Ajaokuta Constituency.
Motion for the impeachment was moved on the floor of the House by Ukubile Ochijenu (Idah Constituency) and seconded by Zakari Mohammed.
17 out of the 25 members of the assembly supported the impeachment of the principal officers.

He said the 17 members unanimously signed the impeachment document to remove the Speaker on grounds of alleged incompetency, poor leadership style, betrayal of trust and inability to represent them effectively, amongst others.
