Kogi Governor Involved in Fatal Road Crash, Flown to Abuja for Treatment
The Governor whom our source said may have lost one of his legs in the fatal road accident that occurred close to Salem University, Lokoja was said to be on his way back to Lokoja from a function in Ayingba.
He was initially rushed to the Emergency Ward of the Kogi State Specialist Hospital in Lokoja, but was moved to the Government House Hospital following the huge crowd that besieged the state Specialist Hospital and was flown to the National Hospital in Abuja in a helicopter arranged by the state government.
The governor whose Aide-De-Camp died instantly at the scene of the accident, was reported by doctors at the Lokoja Specialist Hospital where he received first aid treatment to have suffered a great damage to his leg.
The doctors said the governor was brought into the intensive care unit with a severely fractured femur, a senior government official said. He added that the doctors said the governor is in good condition and did not sustain major head or spinal cord injuries.
