Kirikiri Prison Wall Collapses, Fence Mended with Zinc [Photos]
Inmates of the Maximum Security Prison, Kirikiri, Lagos had moment of comedy when on Sunday, the prison walls separating them from the rest of the world fell down flat like the walls of Jericho. According to Dailypost, the walls fell down after an outpour of early morning rain, which came with a whirlwind. The prisoners were said to be outside the cells, but were
immediately ordered to go back to their prison rooms when the Prison officers noticed that the cloud was murky.
The rain which came with full force drew with it sounds that came like attack, only for the men on duty to go out and found out that the walls had fallen flat. Calls were immediately put to other security agencies to come in to secure the place, and stop any prisoner who may want to escape.
As at press time, when Elombah.com went to the area for clarification, we noticed that zincs had been used as fences, pending when the walls will be built again.
