Jonathan Honours Blessing Okagbare with N6.5 Million Cash Gift
President Jonathan on Webdnesday honoured Africa’s fastest woman, Blessing Okagbare. The Olympic and world Athletics Championship medalist was rewarded for her impressive performance at the recently concluded 2013 World Athletic Championship in Moscow. Blessing won the silver medal in the long jump and also placed third in the Women’s 200m race.
President Jonathan said Blessing, who is Africa’s 100m record holder, and her coach would be considered for national honours and announced a cash gift of N3 million for her and N3.5million for her coach.

formally congratulate Blessing Okagbare and other young men and women like her who have been working very hard to make this country proud.”
