Jonathan Bows to NASS, Sacks NCAA Director General, Demuren
President Goodluck Jonathan today bowed to the demand of the National Assembly to releave the Director General of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Dr. Harold Olusegun Demuren with an order removing the DG with immediate effect.
It would be recalled the at the National Assembly, particularly the senate has insisted on the removal of the NCAA boss following the poor handling of the probe and suspension of Dana Airline, whole plane was involved in a crash that killed 153 people last year.
The NCAA’s boss sack was announced in a two paragraph statement signed by one Sam Nwaobasi, a media aide to the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, Anyim Pius Anyim. The statement said Demuren’s removal is based on his “unsatisfactory response to the numerous concerns of stakeholders in the Aviation Sector.”
The statement however did not say the nature of the pressure, nor indicate the stakeholders involved.
