JCI-Aso Visits Orphanage Home, Completes Building, Adopts A Child for Scolarship [PHOTOS]
On the 15th of February 2014, members of the Junior Chamber International-ASO visited the Christ Foundation Orphanage home located in the satellite town of Kuje in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
JCI is a membership-based nonprofit organization of 200,000 young people ages 18 to 40 in 5,000 communities and more than 100 countries around the world with shared belief that in order to create lasting positive change, they must improve themselves and the world around them.
The president of the local organization, Odusote Kayode explained that “The annual visitation to the motherless babies’ home is sorely for the purpose of bringing succor to little ones and loving humanity in concrete terms as we perform works of charity beyond human inhibitions based on the JCI NEEDS assessment.
He explained further that “Our support is to make the children know and feel that they are beautiful, important and precious. We support homes where they are given the love and care due them, in an environment that enables them to attain their fullest potential in character and learning. Their education is guaranteed as they are encouraged and appreciated in a ‘natural’ home with devoted parents who ensure that they have enormous rights and privileges as well as the respect and dignity due them as each child is brought up with a sense of his/her own worth in the sight of God”.
“It is precisely for these reasons that our Local Organization JCI-ASO dedicated the project of visiting ‘motherless babies home’ every year to distribute gifts, food and material items as a time to show more love and meet up with their needs. This year, we have been able to attract annual sponsorship of the event from Jci. Senator Rotimi Adewole in honor of his father “Late Samuel Akinrinola Adewole”.
In aligning to the JCI NEEDS assessment, we donated food items and some building materials needed at the orphanage. We have also adopted the only child of the orphanage in the higher institution for scholarship through the University.
The National president, Saheed Adegoke, National Vice President D1, Raphael Duru, National Vice President D2, Ojo Richard, Jci. Senators Rotimi Adewole and Rotimi Sadiq, Jc. Yinka Soile, Past presidents of the local organization and over twenty two members of the organization graced the occasion.
