Is It True That Gov Imoke’s Faction Of PDP Bribed Some Members of the Party’s NWC?
I AM not concerned with the current wrangling or the intense struggle for supremacy among contending factions in the CRS Chapter of the PDP because it is not my business.
I detest the PDP with a passion that borders on hatred because it has grossly undeveloped the country for the past 16 years, it has held absolute in the political governance in the country.
I also dislike the PDP because of its waywardness and predilection for impunity. I am convulsed by chicanery and shenanigan visited on this hapless, raped but potentially great nation by the PDP for the past 16 years. I am angry that this blessed nation has become perpetually clay footed and refused to grow.
The PDP controlled Federal Government of Nigeria has made more money from 1998-2014 more than what the country had earned from 1914-1997 yet the country is floundering and lay prostrate by a bankrupt and visionless government controlled by a Party that boast of being the biggest Party in Africa!
However, I am bothered about that the current in fighting in the Cross River State Chapter of PDP BECAUSE IT has the potential and possibility of degenerating to a massive break down of law and order in the State.
I am worried that PDP is gradually brining the senseless and sadistic bombing of Boko Haram in the hapless North Eastern Region of the country to my State.
It Seem the reputation of Cross River State as a haven of tranquillity, in an otherwise turbulent country wracked by plenty of intractable crises, is fast eroding.
If the PDP can be this mean to an intra Party dispute between its members; I then wonder what PDP would do come 2015 when it will compete for votes with other opposition Political Parties.
The bomb blast that took place in the State secretariat of the PDP on the 24th November, 2014 should be a source to all well loving people of this State.
The crisis in the PDP has taken a heavy toll in governance in the State. I not know why Governor Liyel Imoke should get himself entangled and enmeshed with the politics of nomination of candidates to contest the next election under the platform of PDP. Why can’t Governor Imoke just let go and allow the aspirants to slug it out.
The crisis is distracting Governor Imoke. Do you know that until now students from the State that wrote the last West African School Certificate Examinations are yet to get their result because WAEC has refused to release the results?
The grouse of WAEC is the indebtedness of the Government of Cross River State running to the tune of N300 Million. WAEC is saying that the State Government must settle the indebtedness before it can release the result.
So the fighting of these two elephants means that a lot of young people from the State cannot get their results to write entrance examination into tertiary institutions or even get employment.
It is therefore curious that a State Government that cannot settle a little debt such as N300 Million owed WAEC would have no qualms channelling a whopping N500 Million to bribe certain members of the PDP National Working Committee to cancel the Ward Congresses held in the State on the 1st November 2014; that has been the source of so much rancour in the Party in the State.
The rumour mills in both Calabar and Abuja has been abuzz with the story that Governor Imoke’ faction of the PDP bribed some people in Abuja with N500 Million! If the Government can throw away such a humungous sum of money on an ego trip such as the bribing of some greed party apparatchiks in Abuja; why wouldn’t the same Government settle it indebtedness to WAEC so that our young people can get their results?
Why is the State Government toying with h the destiny of our young people?
I also know that Civil Servants in the State have not received their salary for two months now. Yet the State can afford to throw away N500 Million just like that.
The State Government has been wasting tax payers’ money on this Congress thing that ought to be it concern.
Just a month ago the State Government dipped its hands into the Joint State/Local Government Accounts and removed the sum of N235 Million to sponsor the ward congresses of the PDP in the State.
It is incredulous.
