Injured Kogi Gov Wada To Recover In Six Months…Abandons Hospital For Home Treatment
The unstable political situation in Kogi State has driven the injured governor of the state, Capt Idris Wada out of the Cedar Crest hospital, Abuja where he has been receiving treatment for injuries sustained in a motor accident in which his Aide de Camp (ADC), Mohammed Idris died last Friday.
Apart from the ADC who lost his life when the SUV Wada was travelling in on his way back to Lokoja from an Igala education summit had a burst tyre, the governor’s driver and orderly also sustained serious injuries and still in the hospital recuperating. Unsure of his fate in the hands of many of his highly placed political adversaries, iReports-ng.com learnt that Wada delibrately refused to seek medical treatment abroad like many of his counterparts who had been involved in similar accidents or even lesser incidents.
Even on his hospital bed in Abuja, the governor was said to be eager to return to the Lokoja government house where all needed medical personnel and equipment can be deployed to treat him. The Chief Medical Director of Cedar Crest hospital, Dr Felix Ogedengbe, who offered to do Wada’s wish said the governor is fit enough to continue further treatment from home. He however disclosed that Mr Wada wont be fully fit for the rigours of his office until after six months.
The governor was said to have left the hospital at about 9am local time today to return to government house in Lokoja where he prefers to continue his treatment and checkmate political adversaries manoevers.
