INEC Nullifies Election of 12 PDP National Working Committee Members
The Independent National Electoral commission, INEC has nullified the election of 12 members of the Members of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP National Working Committee, NWC whose election the commission said violated due process.
According to a statement by INEC, the members of the PDP NWC whose elections were nullified include the Deputy National Chairman, Sam Sam Jaja; National Organising Secretary, Abubakar Mustapha; Deputy National Organising Secretary, Okechukwu Nnadozie; National Publicity Secretary, Chief Olisa Metuh; Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Binta Goje.
Other members whose election were also nullified include the over 60 years old National Youth Leader, Garba Chiza; his Deputy, Dennis Alonge Niyi; Deputy National Auditor, Senator Umar Ibrahim; National Woman Leader, Kema Chikwe; her Deputy, Hannatu Ulam; deputy National Treasurer, Claudus Inengas; National Legal Adviser, Victor Kwon.
INEC however said the election the parties National Chairman, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur; sacked National Auditor, Bode Mustapha; Financial Secretary, Elder Bolaji Anani and sacked National Secretary, Olagunsoye Oyinlola followed due process and still remains valid.
INEC maintained that the process which produced 12 of the 16-member executive was in violation of paragraph 6.5(1) of the guidelines for the conduct of the 2012 congresses and national convention.
