INEC Declares APC’s Obaseki Winner Of Edo Governorship Election

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has declared the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate in the Edo State gubernatorial election as the winner of the poll.
Obaseki polled 319,483 to beat his closest rival and candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Ize-Iyamu who polled 253,173 to come second.
Announcing the result of the election, the returning officer, Professor Kayode Soremekun said a total of 613,244 were recorded at the election, while 30,945 votes were invalid.
Meanwhile, the Peoples Democratic Party in Edo State has rejected the results of the elections.
