Impeachment Motion Against President Buhari Suffers Setback In Senate
An Impeachment motion against President Muhammadu Buhari has suffered a set back in Senate.
This is coming after the President gave an anticipatory approval for the withdrawal of the sum of $496,374,470 (N151,394,421,355) from the Excess Crude Account (ECA), for the purchase of 12 Tucano aircraft from the United States government.
The lawmakers however disagreed with the President insisting that he has committed an “impeachable offence” by authorising the purchase of $462m jets for the military without appropriation by the National Assembly.
The Motion was referred to Senator David Umaru, Chairman Senate Committee on Judiciary and Legal Committee.
