Id-El-Kabir: Yobe Govt Distributes Relief Materials To IDP
Ahead of the Eid-El-Kabir salah celebration, the Yobe state Government has sent food and non-food supplies to the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), and other vulnerable groups across the 17 LGAs of the state.
The state commissioner of education Mohammed Lamin who address press men before the departure of the consignments to the various Local Governments headquarters said the state government will continue to accord the plight of the masses the desired priority.
The items which are also to cushion hardships expected to be faced by the poor and the vulnerable is to also help them celebrate at this critical period.
“We are sending these items to help the IDPs and the vulnerable also celebrate at this critical time of their existence and the committee is challenging the chairmen to ensure adequate distribution.
“These items were send to us for these category of people by the federal government through the Nigerian Customs Service and we are considering all the LGAs in the distribution because they all suffered insurgency either directly or indirectly with several vulnerable across”
Items supplied according to him include; “16,000 of 50KG Rice, 17,850 cane of Vegetable oil, 7,200 cartoons of spaghetti, used cloths and Mosquito coils” among others.
