Clerk Denies Allegation Of Tampering With Appropriation Committee Computers, Others
The Clerk of the House of Representatives Appropriation Committee, Dr. Abel Ochigbo has denied allegations that the speaker of the House, Yakubu Dogara ordered the shut down, seizure and packing of computers and records belonging to the committee.
Former Chairman of the committee, Hon. Abudmumin Jibrin alleged that the speaker ordered all computers in the secretariat of the committee to be shut down and moved to his office.
He also alleged that the secretariat staff on he orders of the speker are being harrased to keep quiet and suppress facts as well as attempts to break into home office to make away with some vital materials.
But Dr. Ochigbo in a letter addressed to the clerk of the National Assembly, the Acting Clerk of the House of Representatibves and the chairman of the House appropriation committee said the secretariat of the committee is intact and has not been threatened in anyway,
A copy of the letter seen by Abusidiqu.com also said that all records of the committee are also intact and safe-both hardware and software.
The letter further stated that any such report of the allegation as stated above should be totally disregarded.
