Hoodlums Hack Man To Death In Edo
Suspected hoodlums on Friday, allegedly killed a man identified as Osasu John Omoruyi, in Benin, the Edo State capital.
The victim was said to have been abducted by the two men from a beer spot along Sakponba area, and taken to Uwa Street where he was hacked to death with a cutlass at about 11pm.
According to report from a witness who was relaxing on the balcony of his house at about 11:50pm when he saw a saloon car drove into the street.
“Immediately the car stopped, two men dragged a young man out, forced him to sit on the ground and started shouting at him. One of the men afterwards ran into the car and brought a cutlass which he used to disembered his body,” the witness reported.
Operatives of Esige Division were later called to remove the body.
State spokesman for the Police, DSP. Moses Nkombe, confirmed the incident and said police are on the trail of the assailants.
