Homer Holds Africa Mini Grid Summit In Abuja
Homer Microgrid, is set to hold its fourth annual Africa Mini Grid Summit at the Sheraton Hotel in Abuja, on Monday December 4th.
The summit, titled, “Action Learning Event on Upscaling Mini Grids for Low Cost and Timely Access to Electricity” in Nigeria is designed to facilitate investments in the sector and accelerate the deployment of mini grid systems to reach universal energy access by 2030.
Homer CEO, Peter Lilienthal will be providing an all-day training in the Homer Pro software for African users – both beginner and advanced.
Other conference events include a day devoted to mini grid policy, with discussion of new legal frameworks for the technology in Nigeria; a day devoted to the technical aspects of mini grids, and field trips to current projects.
The World Bank | REA Mini Grid Africa Summit is sponsored by the World Bank Energy Sector Management Assistance Programs (ESMAP), Climate Investment Funds (CIF), the UK Department of International Development Program (DFID), and the Nigerian Electrification Agency (REA).
Invited guests include Babatunde Fashola, SAN, Honorable Minister, Federal Ministry of Power, Works and Housing. Mr. Rachid Benmessaoud, Country Director for the Federal Republic of Nigeria and Coordinating Director for West Africa Regional Integration Program will be opening the event.
