Hamza Al-Mustapha Unveils Plan To End Boko Haram Insurgency
The Chief Security Officer, CSO, to late Head of State, General Sani Abacha, Major Hamza Al-Mustapha (rtd), yesterday, unveiled a peace and unity plan initiated by him for the 19 northern states to solve the present Boko Haram insurgency in the area.
The plan is to be executed under the Al-Mustapha Peace, Unity and Development Initiative, APUDI, which he is the President and CEO.
Speaking at its 1st national conference on “conflicts and youth militancy in northern Nigeria and the challenge of democratic practice in Nigeria, in Abuja, Al-Mustapha said that it was very expedient for the region to be united and embrace peace which was very essential to development.
As part of the conference, which was well attended especially by eminent northern leaders, the APUDI training manual was also launched.
The organisation, according to Al-Mustapha, undertook to develop and publish the training manual “to provide ideas, guides and relevant skills that are required to intervene, resolve and manage conflict for peace, unity and development in Nigeria.”
In a remark, Chairman of Northern Governors’ Forum and Governor of Niger state, Babangida Aliyu, who was represented at the conference as Chairman, stressed the need for leaders in government to pay attention to the plights of the citizens.
He noted that this would boost the peoples’ confidence in their leaders and government, as ignoring them was detrimental to development and peace.
