Gunmen Kill Renowned Islamic Scholar, Sheikh Albani, Wife and Children in Zaria

A Zaria-based renowned Islamic scholar, Sheikh Albani was shot dead by unknown gunmen in Zaria yesterday.
The Sheikh was reportedly attacked by the gunmen after he had closed from his school located in Tudun Wada area of Zaria.
The gunmen who opened fire on the car in which the Sheikh was driving, also killed his wife and two of his children, who were also in the car, while another child was critically injured.
Confirming the incident, Kaduna State police command public relation officer, Aminu Lawan, said that his command has mobilized its men to the scene of the incident after they received information that the cleric and some members of his family had been killed by some unknown gunmen in Zaria.
The command however could not say the state of health of the surviving child of the cleric that survived the attack.
Lawan however confirmed that they are conducting investigation on the murder of the scholar.
