Governor Suntai Reportedly Recovers from Plane Crash Injuries, Set to Return to Nigeria on Sunday
Report reaching Abusidiqu indicates that the ailing governor of Taraba State, Danbaba Suntai has fully recovered from the injuries he sustained during the Air mishap which took place on October 25th 2012.
The Governor is expected to return to the country from his medical sojourn on Sunday around 10.00am, and will be accompanied by his family and close friends, alongside political associates.
Danbaba will be landing first at the Abuja airport to see the President, Mr Goodluck Jonathan, so we gathered, before he will take off to Jalingo airport where he will be received by the Acting Governor, Alhaji Garba Umar and other top government appointees by 2:00pm.
Recall that the governor was flown abroad few days after he suffered head injury from a private jet air crash he personally piloted.
He spent 10 months a German and US hospital before returning to Nigeria without fully recovering from the ailment.
Insiders said his return flouted medical advice as forces within and outside Taraba state brought him back to create the impression that Governor is in charge so their interest which was under threat under the administration of the deputy governor who assumed the role of the governor in an acting capacity.
His stay generated a lot of political acrimony between his deputy Garba Umar and the members of the State House of Assembly until he was flown back to Germany few weeks after having certified that the governor was unfit to lead the state.
His second return this time around may mark the end of the Umar as acting governor as he will be expected to take back the position he left nearly two years ago.
