Governor Orji’s Son Clinches Abia House of Assembly PDP Ticket
The first son of Governor Theodore Orji of Abia State, Chinedum Orji, has clinched the Peoples Democratic Party ticket to run for member of the House of Assembly representing Umuahia Central constituency of Abia State.
The younger Orji emerged after the primary election held by the PDP held at School Road Primary School, Umuahia.
He polled a total of 11 votes out of the 12 total votes cast. One vote was voided, the returning officer, Chief Anayo Nwakodo said.
His fellow contenders for the same slot, Adighibe Maduakolam, and George Uwalaka reportedly polled zero votes.
The returning officer explained that all three political wards was represented by three delegates each, while four delegates, including governor Theodore Orji were automatic delegates.
Mr. Chinedum Orji thanked the delegates for the confidence reposed in him, promising to carry everyone, including his rivals, along.
A contestant, Uwalaka said he was satisfied with the conduct of the exercise, which according to him was free and fair.
