Governor Muhammed Abdullahi Abubakar has been declared the winner in the just concluded primaries held in Bauchi.
Governor Abdullahi defeated his rivals by a landslide margin after results were collated from all the twenty local governments areas of the state.
The returning officer and chairman of the election committee Bauchi state, Professor Ahmed Bakori Mohammed declared Muhammed Abubakar as the winner of the primaries with a total votes of seventy five thousand and eighty six to beat his closest rival, Dr. Yakubu Lame who polled three thousand nine hundred and eighty eight vote.
Other aspirants, Dr. Ali Pate polled two thousand eight hundred and eighty six while Captain Bala Jibrin retired got two thousand five hundred and thirty nine.
According to professor Ahmed Bakori Mohammed the total votes cast stood at eighty seven thousand three hundred and twelve while invalid votes stood at one thousand and four and unused ballot papers also stood at one thousand six hundred and eighty six.
He said Muhammed Abubakar has fulfilled all requirements and is hereby returned elected.
