Gov. Gaidam Attends Funeral Prayers For Late Bashir Alkali
Yobe State Governor, Ibrahim Gaidam was among hundreds of Muslim faithful who attended the funeral prayers for late Bashir Alkail, a staff of the Yobe State University, Damaturu who died yesterday and was buried in the morning today in Damaturu.
Late Bashir Alkali is a younger brother of the Governor’s Chief of Staff, Alhaji Muhammad Nur Alkali.
Bashir died at 54 years old and is survived by his wife and three children, his aged mother and many brothers and sisters, amongst others.
In addition to the Chief of Staff, late Bashir’s other brothers include Dr. Muhammad Bashir Alkali of the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital (UMTH) and Kaumi Alkali of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The funeral prayers for the deceased were led by Goni Shehu.
H.E Gov. Gaidam, who condoled with the family, prayed Almighty Allah (SWT) to admit late Bashir Alkali to al-Jannatul Firdausi.
H.E Gov. Gaidam had also condoled with his Secretary to State Government (SSG), Alhaji Baba Mallam Wali over the death of his older brother, Saidu Nguru.
A retired police inspector, late Saidu Nguru was 80 years old. He is survived by his wife and eight children.
The governor also prayed for the repose of the soul of the deceased.
