Gombe Seeks Total Dismantling Of Internally Displaced Camps
The Gombe State government has appealed to other states that still have Internally Displaced Camps, IDPs to dismantle them.
Governor Ibrahim Dankwambo said camping people who were used to normal live was not human, not part of Nigerian culture and did not encourage or empower them to contribute to nation building.
Governor Dankwambo was speaking when the Head of Gombe Operations Office of the Nigerian Emergency Management Agency, Hajia Amina Ahman, paid him a courtesy visit.
“Whatever it will take to dismantle these camps, we should dismantle them before the end of this year. And that is without no recourse to any particular state or any particular situation. We should make effort to restore peace as we were told that peace has been restored in most places in the North-east. They should be encouraged to go back, settle in those places and continue with their normal life,” he explained.
