Germany Beats Argentina to Clinch Brazil 2014 World Cup Title
After 24 since it last won a world cup title, the German national team on Sunday clinched the title in the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
A late goal from Mario Goetze up in the second half of extra-time put the Germans ahead of their Argentinean counterpart in the final match played at the Maracana Stadium in Brazil.
The Germans entered the final of the tournament having thrashed the host Brazil 7-1 in the semi-finals in a seismic result that shook the tournament and international football.
Argentina had big opportunities when Gonzalo Higuain missed a one-on-one at the edge of the box, but Germany are crowned world champions as Mario Gotze’s extra-time winner beat the Argentines in the 2014 Fifa World Cup final.
