Abusidiqu brings you the 1993 presidential debate between late MKO Abiola of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and Bashir Tofa of the National Republican Convention (NRC).
The debate which is the first to be televised in Nigeria was a build up to what has been described as the best and less contentious election in Nigeria’s history.
The outcome of the election however was not allowed to prevail as the administration of then Military President. General Ibrahim Babangida annulled the results.
The substance of this debate will at least help in comparing what we have seen in recent times as far as presidential debates in Nigeria are concerned.
