Four More Ebola Infected Patients Discharged from Quarantine in Lagos
Four more patients undergoing treatment for the deadly Ebola Virus Disease have been discharged from the Ebola Emergency Treatment Centre in Lagos.
The Minister of Health, Onyebuchi Chukwu, in a statement on Monday, said the discharged patients have now being confirmed to be Ebola free.
The minister however did not disclose the identities if the survivors that were discharged.
The statement signed by the minister’s Special Assistant on Media and Communication, Mr. Dan Nwomeh reads: “The Minister of Health Prof. Onyebuchi Chukwu has announced that four additional confirmed cases of Ebola Virus Disease who have been managed successfully and are now disease free have been discharged home today.”
“It includes two male medical doctors and one female nurse. The three participated in the treatment of the index case while the fourth person was a female patient at the time the index case was on admission”
“This brings to five the total number of patients diagnosed with Ebola Virus Disease who have now been discharged from hospital.”
Abusidiqu recalls that one of the patients, who tested positive to the virus was discharged on Saturday, after she was declared Ebola free.
