Former Political Adviser Ahmed Gulak Resigns from Jonathan Campaign Group
Few days after he was sacked as a cabinet member in the government of President Goodluck Jonathan, the former Special Adviser to the president on Political Matters, Alhaji Ahmed A. Gulak, has resigned his position as the National Coordinator of the Goodluck Support Group.
Gulak’s resignation from the informal campaign group of the president further shows that there is a bitter difference between the president and his former aide.
Our sources revealed that he willingly resigned days after he had been sacked by Jonathan because of his allegedly active participation (interference) in the political issues of some states.
Up till this moment, President Jonathan didn’t comment on the reason of Gulak’s sack, Gulak provided no details of his resignation either. Gulak was the Group coordinated President’s campaign, which resulted in Jonathan’s victory in 2011.
Originally, the very loyal Gulak had succinctly stated that president Jonathan and Nigeria was progressing under his leadership but was taken aback when he heard of his sack. Hence, he sent a copy of his resignation letter to his deputy Eddy Olafeso urging him to remain supportive of Jonathan in his sincere efforts to make Nigeria a better place.
