FG To Empower 10,000 Ekiti Women
The Federal government has concluded arrangement to engage ten thouand women and youths in Ekiti State in various entrepreneur and empowerment Initiatives.
This would be implemented under the National Programme on Social Development.
The Director General of National Directorate of Employment N. D. E, Dr Nasiru Ladan Argungun made this known in Ado- Ekiti at the launch and of Ekiti Youth Empowerment Programme
Dr Argungun who said the initiative would be done in collaboration with Ekiti State government was part of federal government plan to reduce crime and unemployment among women and youths in the society.
He said under the arrangement government would trained those to be involved in various skills acquisition programmes with both financial and necessary equipment to work with.
The NDE Director General, said President Buhari has given the agency the mandate to create jobs, generate employment through entrepreneurship skills in the country.
In his address, Governor Kayode Fayemi observed that job creation,and youth empowerment remained the major tools to be used by govt under its social investment programme to reduce poverty in the state.
Governor Fayemi charged youths in the state to support government and be actively involve in governance to ensure societal development.
Some of stakeholders who spoke at the programme said the idea was commendable as such would go a long way at engaging the youths and women.
