FG Okays 10-Year International Passport
President Muhammadu Buhari and the Vice-President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, Tuesday, received the new 10-year Diplomatic Passport from the Nigeria Immigration service.
The passports were presented to the President and his vice by the Minister of Interior, Lt General, Abdulrahman Dambazau Rtd, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, after the extraordinary meeting of the Federal Executive Council (FEC).
Lt General Dambazau who was assisted by the Comptroller General of Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Mohammed Babandede, later told State House correspondents that apart from the 10-year validity, the new passport has an enhanced and self-tracking of application.
He said the passport was weather friendly and has polycarbonate technology that eliminates damage and that it now saves Nigerians in diaspora the time needed to frequently visit Nigerian embassies in search of new passports.
