FG, ASUU Negotiation Continues Next Week
The negotiation meeting between the Federal Government and Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) will continue newt week.
Recall that the striking university lecturers on Thursday resumed negotiation with the Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr Chris Ngige, after several efforts to resolve the issues failed.
Dr Chris Ngige expressed the hope that the resumed discussions would lead to the suspension of the strike.
The university lecturers went on strike over non-payment of earned allowance and other welfare issues since November 4, 2018.
Some of the issues discussed as contained in 2017 Memorandum of Action, includes funding for revitalization of universities, earned academic allowances, pension matters and exemption of Treasury Single Account.
