FCT Minister Re-assures On Commitment To Abuja Master Plan
Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Mallam Mohammed Bello has called for effective participation of the citizens at ensuring that Abuja Master plan is preserved.
Mallam Bello who made this know while featuring on Radio Nigeria participatory programme dubbed #HaveYourSay acknowledged that Abuja population had exploded beyond the initial target capacity
He stated however that the management of the city as well as the Federal Government was working on infrastructure including light rails, roads, housing and environmental management at ensuring that the city was not reduce to modern slum.
The administrator who commended the founding father of the city for their diligent and foresight emphasized the need for Nigerians to work for the greatness of the city by internalizing culture of civility in traffic and environment management.
He expressed with delight that the city was developing robust ICT infrastructure that would make Abuja emerged as a smart city driven by technology.
FCT minister who responded to questions from callers on the programme assured that new sets of housing being developed in the city was meant to accommodate the middle class as the existing ones especially within the city are out of reach of the common man.
Mallam Bello stated that government may introduce luxury tax at ensuring that luxury houses without people are put to use by their owners.
He called on Nigerians to support President Muhammodu Buhari for second term based on his performance and Passion for the growth of the country.
