Fayose Emerges PDP Governorship Candidate Of Ekiti State
Former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose has been elected as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the June 21 Governorship election in Ekiti State.
Fayose secured 400 votes to defeat former Minister of Police Affairs, Caleb Olubolade who got seven votes.
He will slug out the election with a member of the House of Representatives, Opeyemi Bamidele of the Labour party and the current Governor of the State, Kayode Fayemi if he emerges the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), despite having no contender for the party’s ticket.
Speaking with reporters shortly after the primary that held at Ado-Ekiti, the State Capital, Fayose enjoined other aspirants of the party to join hands with him in rescuing the state from the present administration.
Fayose described the process which led to his emergence as successful and peaceful.
On who rule Ekiti State again, the battle is now between three major candidates.
