Fayemi’s Aide Denies Accusing Traditional Rulers of Taking Bribe…
…Says Lere Olayinka is Mischievous and a Pathological Liar
An aide to former Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti state, Mr Maxwell Adegbenro has denied a publication by an on-line medium where he was alleged to have accused Ekiti Obas of collecting N150, 000 bribe to attend a programme by concerned yoruba elders in ile-ife on Friday.
Adegbenro in his reaction to the publication described it as the figment of the imagination of those behind the false publication as he did not and cannot make such spurious claim against revered traditional rulers
He however noted that he had a chat with an aide of the governor of Ekiti state, Mr Lere Olayinka personally on facebook following a thread where issue of Ekiti Oba that attended the meeting in Ife was discussed, but said Lere in his treacherous blackmail resolved to twist fact to suit his paid agenda as chief propagandists.
It was in the course of seeking clarification on the rumour trending on facebook about the meeting saying the chat may have been used to concoct the lie sent to the on-line medium
“I wish to state that as a prince I will never drag the revered traditional institution in the mud and will always protect the image of traditional rulers as prince of the Egba Kingdom”.
He also cautioned against attributing the lie published to the former governor who holds traditional institution in high esteem saying if mere friendly chats with someone he taught was a friend could be used as a tool for politicking, it then speaks volume of the personalities occupying the seat of power in Ekiti now.
It takes an online jobber like Lere Olayinka, SA New media to governor fayose a second to concoct, twist and propagates falsehood against anyone. Obviously, that is what he is paid to do, Adegbenro said.
He urged the general public sto disregard the news, as he hope rumour mongers and blackmailers would desist from their act.
