Fashola’s Candidate for Lagos Guber, Supo Shasore, Also Congratulates Ambode

The bad blood that dominated the political scene before and during the governorship primaries of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in Lagos State seem to be cooling down as aspirants who lost out of the race to a former Accountant General in the State, Akinwunmi Ambode has been sending congratulatory messages to him.

Femi Hamzat, who was the closest rival to Ambode after the primary election was the first to congratulate his fellow contender, but another candidate, Supo Shashore, believed by many to be the favourite candidate of the incumbent governor, Babatunde Fashola has also congratulated Ambode.

In a post on social media, Shasore said, “I would like to formally congratulate @akinambode on his declaration as winner of yesterday’s primaries. In the spirit of #NextLevel Laos and my belief that only the #APC can take us there, let’s go Lagos!”

Due to the fact that most of the aspirants did not stay till the end of the primary, it was thought that they were going to object to the result. However so far only Tokunbo Wahab has publicly criticised the election.
