Fashola, Jonathan, Hear Thy Voice of Thy People By Maxwell Adeyemi Adeleye
I say kudos to the gallant and courageous comrades that staged a peaceful protest on monday 30th march this year in Lagos State Governor’s Office against the near collapse of public tertiary education in Nigeria and the satanic plan of government to take tertiary education out of the reach of common people.
It is quite unfortunate that Polytechnic Students have been at home for the past 9 months with government doing practically nothing. Nyesom Wike, the Supervising Minister of Education has been busy strategizing for his Ministerial Ambition in Rivers State while Nigerian Students are junketing around the streets of the nation Nigeria in the euphoria of hopelessness. The media have also gone on criminal silence.
Also, Colleges of Education across the nation have been at home for the past 5 months. God please have mercy on Nigerians!
And to Lagos State Governor, Babatunde Fashola, i wish to let you know that a good leader listen to the yearnings of his followers. As one of your followers, I am saying without any fear or Favour that the N250, 000 to N350, 000 LASU FEE is KILLING and ANTI-AWOISM!
Let me state clearly that I don’t believe in Free tertiary education but for Christ sake, education must be made affordable to the people. Lagos State Government must listen to the yearnings and as well bow to the aspirations of the people.
Take for instance, I am to pay N216, 000 in Ogun State University (Olabisi Onabanjo University) before May 31st. Please how many farmers in Ofada, Owode, Ibeko etc can afford this?
I say no to commercialization of education in Nigeria!
