Enugu Attack: Gov Ugwuanyi Refutes Report He Was Put On Hold When He Called Buhari
Enugu State Governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, has refuted report in some section of the media claiming that he has put on hold for several hours when he made a call to President Muhammadu Buhari over the armed attack in some communities in the state.
Speaking to state house correspondent shortly after briefing President Buhari on the security situation in the state particularly on the attack in, Gov Ugwuanyi denied ever making any call to the presidency.
“It’s not true. At no point did I call Mr President, or anyone in the Presidency for that matter.”
The governor said there was no need to have called the president.
Ugwuanyi expressed happiness that the president has given orders for the apprehension of the culprits.
“I’m very happy Mr President has directed the Chief of Defence Staff and the Inspector General of Police to fish out the culprits. That is the demand of the state. That is what I’m supposed to do as governor.”
